What the number actually is
The Aura Score is a 0–100 read on overall facial harmony, produced from the same scan that generates your five sub-scores. It is deliberately a rollup, not a sixth independent judgement: a face that scores well on skin, contour, structure and symmetry will land high, and a face with one clearly weaker dimension will land lower even when everything else is strong. That is the useful part. A single number tells you almost nothing on its own, but a single number sitting next to five components tells you exactly where to spend your attention.
How the grades read
GlowUp prints a word under the number, and the bands are fixed: 90 and above is Excellent, 85 and above is Radiant, 80 and above is Glowing, 65 and above is Balanced, and anything below that is Building. Most first scans land in the middle — scores cluster around the mid-fifties to mid-sixties by design, so a 62 is an ordinary starting point rather than a bad result. If you were expecting every scan to open in the eighties, the distribution is the reason it does not.
Reading it against the breakdown
The pattern matters more than the total. A mid Aura Score with strong structure and weak skin quality is a skincare problem, and skin is the most trainable dimension — that is a good position to be in. The same total with strong skin and weak contour points somewhere else entirely: body composition, posture, grooming, sleep. Two people can share an Aura Score of 71 and need completely different months. The app ranks your improvement areas HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW for exactly this reason.
What a rising score means
Because the overall is a rollup, it moves when a component moves — which makes it a lagging indicator, not a target. Chase the weakest dimension and the total follows. Chasing the total directly usually means chasing the scan conditions instead: better light, better angle, a more flattering time of day. That produces a nicer number and no actual change.

What this score will not tell you
- It is not an attractiveness verdict, and it does not predict how any individual person will react to your face.
- It compares a photo to a scoring model, not to other users — there is no leaderboard behind it.
- Lighting and angle move the total more than most people expect, which is why the app enforces a wait before rescanning.
How to improve it
- 01
Grades map to bands: 90+ Excellent, 85+ Radiant, 80+ Glowing, 65+ Balanced, below that Building.
- 02
Chase the weakest dimension, not the overall — the rollup follows whatever you lift.
- 03
Scan under the same light at the same time of day, or you are measuring the room instead of your face.
